|Welcome to KESC’s “Fast Track” new connection service! We want your waiting time for a new electric connection to be measured in hours, not weeks. And we want to reduce your costs. To do this, we have made some new rules. Here they are:
Electric meters must be installed where publicly accessible at all times, either on an exterior wall of the building, exterior boundary wall, or on a KESC pole. Your electrical contractor needs to install your wiring up to the meter location.
If the meter is located within 150 feet of an existing KESC pole, a standard connection charge will be applied, based on your main service protection fuse or main circuit breaker (MCB), as certified by your electrical contractor. For non-standard cases, the excess charges shall be forwarded as a supplementary bill to the Customer.
A standard Security Deposit will be applied, based on your main service protection fuse or circuit breaker and customer category. The higher value of load corresponding to MCB or cable size would be taken for calculation of estimates and SD.
